JAMB Issues Update On Sale Of 2019 UTME Forms

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a statement cautioning prospective candidates of the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) not to buy into any news that states that it has begun sale of UTME forms.

The apex Exam Board took to its verified Twitter page on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, to inform candidates to ignore any source claiming it has begun the sales of UTME forms for next year.

Kindly disregard news from any source stating that the Board has begun sales of it UTME application documents. Such news reports are false.

OAU Sex-for-Mark Professor Bags 2 years Jail

Former lecturer of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Professor Richard Akindele was on Monday sentenced to 6 years in jail for demanding sex to pass his student,Monica Osagie by Justice Maurine Onyetenu of the Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo The accused had pleaded not guilty to the charge of sexual harassment preferred against him by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offenses Commission, ICPC. He had since then been remanded in prison custody following objection to his bail by the prosecution ICPC. ASUU Strike: Claims of N350,000, N500,000 Tuition Fees Untrue—Babalakin

The Federal Government negotiating team has appealed to the striking Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, to return to the negotiating table, while denying that it has proposed the imposition of N350,000 and N500,000 as tuition fees to be paid per annum by undergraduates. Speaking with newsmen in Lagos, weekend, Chairman of the team, Dr. Wale Babalakin, dismissed the figures as not only incorrect and contradictory, but also a figment of the imagination of ASUU officials peddling them around the country.
